Well friends, we all made it to the end of winter break. While I love all the extra family time during the holiday season, I know everyone in our house is looking forward to getting back into a routine!

Many of the kid activities that were on hold over the holidays are starting back up, so there is a lot to choose from if you’re looking for some fun things to do this week. Let’s jump in!

📚 Preschool Storytime

⛸️ Parent-Tot Open Skate
🕤 10-11:15am 📍The Pavilion ⭐️ Ages 5 & under
Instructors are on hand to support new skaters and their parents during this session of family skate. Admission is $8 per person (kids under 3 are free!) and includes rentals.

📚 Baby Storytime
🕥 10:30am 📍Deschutes Children’s Foundation, East Campus ⭐️ Ages 0-18 months
Snuggle in for a tiny storytime with simple stories, songs, and rhymes for babies 0–18 months. Just fifteen minutes (perfect for short attention spans!) → more info

🤸 Jump for Joy
🕧 12:30-2:30pm 📍Mountain Air ⭐️ Ages 0-5
Join other toddler families at this free event hosted by the Deschutes Public Library! Two hours of bouncing, jumping, climbing, and special storytime breaks. Spots are limited so it’s recommended to RSVP before the event. → more info

🔬 Backpack Explorers: Micro-Explorers
🕙 10am 📍High Desert Museum ⭐️ Ages 3-5
Explore the museum with magnifying glasses and microscopes! Find out what can be learned about the world around us by taking a (much!) closer look. Younger siblings are welcome, too. → more info & register

📦 Fort City Building
🕒 3pm 📍Play Theory Cafe ⭐️ Ages 3+
Upcycle cardboard boxes, magazines, recycled paper and more into the ultimate fort city! With everyone working together, build houses, hideouts, tunnels, and towers, then decorate it all and use it as the backdrop for a session of imaginative open play. You’re welcome to bring any cardboard boxes and clean recyclable materials to add to the fun. → more info

🎨 Family Art Play

This special family edition of Art Play features open ended art and sensory stations for ages 9 months to 6 years, with plenty of time to explore and create side by side. This week’s theme is “Winter Lights!”→ more info & register

🧶 HEARTBOMB! Crafting Session
🕓 4-7pm 📍Midtown Yacht Club ⭐️ All ages
Join the Waldorf School of Bend for an afternoon of crafting hearts for their annual HEARTBOMB! on Valentine’s Day. All supplies will be provided, just bring the fam and some creativity! → more info

⛸️ With A Child Skate

🎨 Storytime Art

Learn about different artists and artistic styles in this play-based art class. Using stories and a little bit of teacher guidance, kids will create both individual and communal creative projects as well as have time to engage in open-ended exploration stations.
